“I don’t take part in these kinds of actions near enough, so here it goes. Here’s my quote. Since I’m not wired to share other’s quotes but infrequently, this is one of my own:

“Change your attitude and you will change your altitude.” I’m curious to see what you will do with this one. Bombs away!:)   ART ( ADVANCED RESEARCH TECHNOLOGY-life within life)

THANK YOU  for being a part of #FollowGreatFootsteps

The first thing that popped into my mind when I read this is GAME ON! It’s just the banter   that myself and ART  have as Blogging friends.

The next thing that came into my mind is Art needs to go and check out a festival called drop beats not bombs  but I guess that came way too easy.. 😉

BOMBS AWAY!

He has a beat..

Oh, he has a beat…..

Some   blogs are easier for me to describe. ART’s is not. This is a nickname he allowed me to use for him .Considering the the “woah this is some heavy shit we are talking about” topics I expected to have with him and his Bloggers

ADVANCED RESEARCH TECHNOLOGY.

I did not think I would have anything in common when we started chatting but don’t judge a blog by it’s title …

No he is not some guru who is trying to get you to convert to some new religion. His posts are challenging and baffling and I so want to understand it all that -I am drawn back – again  and again.

DO I GET IT YET, HUH?

Start hanging around this dudes Blog and you will feel that heavy  attitude shift and just like you that ;

You will rise to higher altitudes with  a free mind – truly  open to discussion.

One thing I can say is ,ART is a true conversationalist.

I didn’t start Blogging just to get likes. I want to converse and learn new shit. Sometimes that means saying.

“I’m not even half way close to understanding but this is what I do think!”

There is no right or wrong – only a matter of perspective and ART  does write from a different perspective with flair.

So,I am coming in from a different perspective and giving you an insight into the different types of thinkers we have discussing or commenting or just reading in ARTS blog .

A recent post of his.

There are No Flightless Words

“Words are spirit, and carry the life of the the one expressing them, within them.” ~ART

At risk of irreverence … God said “My word goes forth from My mouth and it will not return to Me void” … elsewhere, He said “let us create man in our image” … so if His word goes forth and returns to Him having completed the work He sent them forth to accomplish – and we are made in His image – we ought to be very mindful of the words we send forth.

How I hope and pray there are no foul words out there winging their way back to me with a load for the dropping …

A COMMENT FROM SOME ONE WHO READ ARTS QUOTE

One perspective.

:) I’ll put the smiley face first on this one, as that is the reaction your comment initially stirred.
However, you hit on something very deep. Whenever God speaks, it is done through a man. There is a whole Book to prove it.
The relationship between God and man is not one of distinctiveness, but of overlapping Spirit.
In the Book, it is actually the Word inspired by Almighty, but penned by man, that does not return void.
So it is all in the inspiration, or Spirit behind the words, that determines the outcome of what is sent forth.
So again, at the risk of irreverence, what we send forth in the Spirit IS the Word. If we occupy this position, we should expect the intended outcome.

ART

Another.

My thoughts. I feel I can’t compete with half of what ART speaks about but he makes me want to understand. And that is a good thing.

So here is me jumping in the conversation like I do on most blogs I follow (with my  “un evolved” answer)

so much power in words. I don’t speak like you folk do but – there is something to be said for conscious thought and deliverance of words. I believe even in spirit there needs to come with it a great deal of discipline -especially those who use these words of THE ALMIGHTY or  what-ever to educate or influence. I believe intention has a lot to do with it too.

What I love about engaging with this blog is:

I don’t feel stupid.

I feel I can put what I understand down and that is what is important.

We all have to come to a point of understanding from some source. The start is always the best source – I’ve found I soemtimes get more things than others but shit does get clearer.

I like to keep my mind open and challenged.

This is one of the great blogs I follow which does indeed do that.

“Resentment is like drinking poison and waiting for the other person to die.”

BIG  SHOUT OUT TO BRADLEY in L.A. for sharing this #FollowGreatFootsteps quote. It’s hard not to resent. I agree that it is a wasted energy and an exercise in futility.

In my opinion, the less resentments we hold the better we age and the healthier we remain.

When I think of Bradley’s Blog name– Insights From A Bipolar Bear .  I start hearing Baloo the bear  (from Disney’s ‘Jungle book’ ) singing

“Look for the bare necessities”

If you have never listened to this song as an adult. I suggest you do .  His philosophy  should be given a serious paws for thought ( couldn’t help myself.)

Do you think Baloo could sing this song if he he was still upset he got stung by a bee looking for honey?

Or if he fell asleep under a tree and that bloody bird shat on his head  AGAIN – like it was doing it on purpose?

I  think you get my meaning.

Bradley – has a wealth of information on living with Bipolar. He was diagnosed at the age of 14 years old with Depression and this went on to him being diagnosed with  Manic Depression (Bipolar)

He has every right to be resentful because of his experiences but Hallelujah he realises the waste   of harbouring this feeling.

Bradley is always on the look out for GUEST BLOGGERS -so if you have something to write about – get in touch and share your experiences

. It is Mental Health awareness month in the U.K.

So let’s get our voices heard.

Thank you so much for contributing to #FollowGreatFootsteps

Building bridges

“I’m not a wilting flower. I’m honest, so I pick a lot of fights. I’ve burned a lot of bridges.” Scott Thompson

SO WHY THIS QUOTE?

I don’t go around the streets picking fights with everyone.

I don’t go hollering ‘Yo mama is so big……..

I have always been willful and stubborn and not afraid to speak my mind. I then became a teenager and I got bullied emotionally and I became ill and I lost my voice.

Then I found it again!  WOOP!

I have burnt a lot of bridges speaking my mind with certain exes I didn’t have the courage or confidence to speak up when I  split with them. The power of social media came and gave me a chance to speak my mind. There are a few men who won’t let go and just be cool and be friends.  I see that as an issue with them. I am at peace with my past and I have forgiven myself and others.

It is no one person’s fault but I am at that point in my life where I go

” – shit,  man… I’m not holding any grudges. I don’t want to take that bitterness with me.”

I have learned to tone down my bluntness. I remember a time before my Gran had Dementia. She lived a good life until my grandpa passed on with cancer and then we lost our home, diaries, pictures, everything.

We moved from South Africa to France and then the   U.K. to make a new life.

Anyway, that’s a whole other book.

My Gran bought a fake oyster pearl Rolex on-line. She asked me to buy it for her on-line. I was muttering on about politics and slavery and how we are not helping people working in sweatshops, to improve their working conditions and life.

A few weeks later. We were out in town and in her charming French accent. She asked me what I thought of her new Rolex watch.

The first thing I thought,

I said.

“It looks fake!”

Well, to say my Gran was offended was an understatement. I was met with such vehemence. Anyone would have thought I had told her, she smells like the sewerage system in Barcelona.

We had a  bit of a to do. Gran:

How dare you talk to me that way. You have no respect.”

My Ma was trying to get me to apologise and I was standing my ground.

Why must I lie? I have every right, to tell the truth. What has respect got to with my opinions?

No, I didn’t burn my bridges for good. I love my Gran and she loves me -even now that she has Dementia and only sort of knows I  am someone she was close to.

I’ve burnt bridges with family members like my Dad and my uncles.  So many people have turned away. Sometimes it is because I refused to hide my quirks – or my illness and how I coped with life,I was misunderstood and people thought I was being a douche bag.  I have been a bit of a  dick at times.

It happens.

What is the single most important aim for me now?  Today.

Is knowing I can rebuild bridges if I want to.

We all can.

I’ve got the love back and respect back from some of the people who matter to me. I can say I have tried.

If people don’t want to help you reconnect or just acknowledge your differences for peace of mind. That is their problem, not mine or yours.

It’s not worth hold in on to a grudge. It’s  not worth thinking that because you fucked up a lot that you can’t ever go through life not fucking up again

I only recently “fucked up” again,  ( I say this in very loose terms) with some work I am involved in. It was dealt with fairly,

I got to speak my mind.

I came to the conclusion that letting shit go and working with someone or something is far better in my interests than turning my back and walking away. Especially since I have put a lot of effort and passion and hours into this project.

I  have become that person that puts aside my harsh feelings and I am usually the first person to be happy for peace.

I don’t want drama! I really don’t.

I wish I could let go of my weight and scales issues.  I  should practice what I preach.

I do but when it comes to my Eating disorder…

well, it’s a never-ending bloody soap opera.  There are only so many times you can bring a character back from the dead, right?

Have hope! Bridges can be rebuilt and if not -it says more about you and the type of person you are, to make the effort and the courage it takes to be the person to try and make amends.

Remember, if someone won’t entertain you after you try to make amends.

Move the fuck on.

There is so much more of life to see and wasting it waiting around for someone to like you again or forgive you is a waste of time.

So hold no grudges and move on today!

Conquer or be Conquered

“I have to keep facing the darkness. If I stand tall and face the thing I fear, I have a chance to conquer it. If I just keep dodging and hiding it will conquer me.”
Mary Pope Osborne, My Secret War: The World War II Diary of Madeline Beck, Long Island, New York 1941

WHY I’VE CHOSEN THIS QUOTE.

I’ve been letting the dark extinguish all light. I have basically been a wuss. It is the start of a new week. Unfortunately this day starts with an M. but  go look outside your window. check  that cloud out and look for the silver lining..

My passion for life, just recently got ran over by a steam roller and flattened me out, Rolling me out like a  piece of dough, taking all the air- like passion out of me.

We all have our struggles. Shit, it sometimes a lot of the times may  seem like hiding under the duvet covers and growling at anyone who dares to step their big toe into my bedroom like a good idea.

How many times have we done that one?

What did we achieve?

what did we learn?

So how can I big myself up?

I could hire out a cheerleader and personal mascot to follow me around for the week shouting

GO DAISY!  GO DAISY! D.A.IS.Y. -WHAT DO YOU GET ? DAISY!

If I did this I may end  up in prison by the end of the week under murder charges for temporarily losing my mind and killing a cheer leader and mascot.

Imagine it. All week. That would drive me nuts!

I’m going to use my busy week to learn.

I know for a fact,that if I 100%

engage in my life this week;I will become bigger in spirit and character and I will learn more. I will evolve.

Come Sunday . I will no longer be who I am today.

I’m kind of nosy how that is going to turn out.

Change is good . Push yourself.

I think the idea of being conquered sucks. I know how much of a buzz I get when I push myself and I DO  what I set out to do. I go on a natural high.

I am usually quite successful in all that I  take on.

I’m worried that I won’t have enough time to be a Mom, partner and put the effort I usually do into my  blog and reading other blogs because:

  • I’ve got my hair trial

  • Make up re trial

  • Food tasting for the wedding

  • Run through for the wedding

  • suit hunting

  • ring hunting

  • dentist

  • Bella Bee back at school

  • long hours of group  facilitating  training  on Tuesday and Wednesday

  • More long hours of training with a different organisation on Friday

  • Exercise every day

I know it may not sound like a lot. To me it is a huge challenge considering how I have been feeling lately.

I’m so going to own this week.

Make a list of what you have to do. By all means focus on one day at a time. You don’t want to freak yourself out

Oh and please be fucking kind to your self. I hear this a lot.

Follow Great Footsteps- Gratitude .

“Some people grumble that roses have thorns; I am grateful that thorns have roses.”
Alphonse Karr, A Tour Round My Garden

WHY I CHOSEN THIS QUOTE

To me it seems kind of obvious what this dude means.

It’s rather more  optimistic -a great improvement from #FollowGreatFootsteps quote yesterday.

Yesterday I couldn’t get out.

It was a miracle that I got some exercise done ( to shut up the eating disorder critters) and managed to clean the house, blog and read blogs and get a bath and spend a bit of time with my G and Bella Bee

It might not sound like much; for me:   when my mood shifts- getting out of bed is an achievement.

No joking around.

The scales are still being twats.

Give me the number I want!

It is like a screwed up version of playing the lottery. The exception is the more you lose the richer and happier you become.

When I think of roses.I think YELLOW -my favourite colour rose.

yellowroses8

It makes me smile. My Gran once bought me a butterfly shaped trinket.

It says on it :

“Happiness is like a butterfly, it settles on those  when you least expect it”

Yesterday, my Bella bee and my G came home with a wild Daffodil they had found -yellow,  I associate the colour with happiness.

Maybe that is why I kept my bathroom painted in  a  fizzy ,repugnant yellow for 7 years -in my not so new home.  It was the first bathroom  I didn’t use laxatives and abuse my body. It is a place I associate with peace and no pain . I am talking about a toilet here.

Peace in a toilet?

Is there such  a thing?

I could be talking through my ass but I can do these things. It’ my blog- (sticking out my tongue)

If I touch a rose I get pricked -possibly multiple times but it is worth pain to behold in your hands; something that has  the scent of a new born day-dewy and fresh.

No wind.

No rain.

That has passed already.

I get to touch a petal.

Natures clothe of  velvet.

A newly blossomed rose is quite a  stunning sight.

Check me out trying to get all poetic. HA HA!

fa7f8bd048070ae2b1564242bc91fae91c9a1a9a16cf5555045cc902857a9e65

No seriously,

we have to go through some pricks -people or experiences, if we want chance to feel the beauty that is happiness .

Thorns makes us bleed.

It says:

DON’T TOUCH MY FUCKING ROSE!

Only joking.

To me :it says you are going to have to feel pain in life and it’s going to cut you up but it will be worth it.

If  a  rose can blossom living amongst the thorns then so can you. Our  lives and  our selves blossom in  spite of  all the pain we have to go through.

Those very thorns can protect us. Experience teaches us.

The suffering is 100% worth it in the long run. So what game are you playing ?

The long sprint or the short cuts?

Just something to think about ….

If you have read the blurb bit already, no need to unless you want .:D

“The only way your soul will ignite – is if you press your ears against curiosities chest.
That is true madness waiting to undress inspiration.” ~ Charlie Zero #FollowGreatFootsteps

There is no need for me to do a quote today because the Avant-garde poet Charlie Zero beat me to it 😀  – If you want to challenge yourself this poets blog is  your  go to place . I will warn you. You may need a dictionary. Charlie Zero’ advice to me..

If the words

Surrealist                Avant Garde            Weird         Visionary  -speak to you .

You will have it in triple doses. Read his Bio-.  and read his latest poem – ‘Captain Anyflop’ – it  left my head spinning 360 degrees

I woke up to this quote. It is a bit surreal but I have so much respect for people who blog who come up with their own quotes. So why this quote ? in Charlie Zero’s own words

“My quote and I came up with it since last year.

This quote to me represents who I am as a poet and how far I take my writings to the next level of weird/bizarre/trip to the odyssey.”

CHARLIE ZERO BIO

What do I make of this quote?

I think for me ; humans always want to know things. We gossip, we want answers all the time. We naturally far too curious for our own good sometimes.

If you want to really extend your knowledge and give a kick to your mind and entire being you need to go to the source of your curiosity. Cut out the  middle man.

It is madness in a way because you are walking into a land you have no clue as to what you will find.

But by seeking out knowledge stripped of everything -ego and allow the truth of your discovery to to sink in –

you will find something that shakes you to your core and inspires you to live with fire in your belly.

Of course my interpretation can be completely  wrong. It is all about the effort, right? 😀  😀  – I’m trying here 🙂
