We criticise ourselves so much -it is always good to remind ourselves of our achievements, fun times, parts of our character that we know is good. The art of happiness is about honouring the good in ourselves and others. No person is responsible for our finding inner happiness. It is an art and is subjective.

11 EMPOWERING FACTS ABOUT ME AND FOR ME


I have a BA (Hons) in the Arts and humanities – majored in ‘Advanced creative writing’ and ‘Myth in the Greek and Roman Worlds’ & A post-graduate certificate in the Humanities. I’ve finished one year of my MA in Advanced Creative writing.


I have lived on three continents – Africa- Europe and America
I’ve dedicated many spare hours to working/volunteering my time with Mental health charities.


I have a Foundation degree in Acting performance that I completed when I was 5 months pregnant & in a soul damaging relationship at the time.


My cousin made me audition for the X factor because she didn’t want to do it alone. I sang ‘Nothing compares’ Sinead O’ Conner & thought I had a chance. I stopped halfway through “auditioning’, opened my eyes and looked at the judges- their faces crushed my short-lived dream of being a singer. I can’t sing at all.


I think I am an introvert but I come to life in groups.


People say I am witty and funny although it tends to happen when I don’t mean to or try to be.


I love music, dancing, going out, meeting new people, time alone, reading, researching and writing.


I never wanted to have children or get married. I hit my 30’s and ended up having my daughter & getting married without planning to.


I love people who can make me belly laugh.


My favourite flower is a yellow rose


People tell me I am too hard on myself, I am ruthless and need to take care of myself more


My dream career was to become a criminal lawyer/psychologist.I became a Travel consultant, writer and at times a jack of all trades -master of none.


I wish I hadn’t stopped learning how to play the piano. I love the piano and I love the violin too. I would love to be an Orchestra conducter

      Ah Yes, I am in good company with my real name, then 😀 . I still love being called Daisy- if I ever have another child and it is a girl – she will be called Daisy Willow. I know the wedding is mere weeks again.It is crazy. I’m getting married ,Miriam 🙂 xx

    I love seeing these award posts, they give so much insight into who a person is and are always so fun to read (and answer also).       Of course- the challenge is to share and post a quote that you love or even one of your own over a period of 3 days. The first time I did the challenge I picked a quote that I liked and posted it.
      The rules:
      Pick a quote and post a different one for the next three days
      copy and paste the Link so it links back to your nominator ( me)
      Nominate three blogs you want to challenge.
      Once you have published your first post you can leave a comment on your nominees about page or a post that have published letting them know they have been nominated. Copy and past your post with the link with their Blog links in it. SO they know how to find you and if they take on the challenge they can link back the challenge to your Blog .

      I don’t know how to use pingback so I am not even going there.. but that is an easier way to link.

    Thank you very much for the nomination! I love the fact that my blog speaks to you despite our differing faith perspectives (it means I have effectively left the preacher on the curb).

    Also, coincidentally, I picked up To Kill a Mockingbird this weekend while at a lacrosse tournament out of town–in a Target no less (it just sat there amongst trashy novels screaming, “Pick me! Pick me!” as I walked by). I’ve read loads of classics, but for some reason I have never read that one. Oh the horror! I know, right? Wow, drew me in from the first line and couldn’t put it down. Can’t believe Lee only published one book. I too found myself smiling amongst the deep themes. I even shook the bed in laughter, annoying my sleeping wife, as Scout demanded that her uncle pass “the damn ham.” XD

      I read it in school and forgot the whole story. I knew the basic synopsis but a few months back I wanted to read it and take it all in properly. There is another book she wrote which I am wanting to read. It is called ‘Go set a watchmen’ it is about the protagonist -Scout in TKaMB returning to his home town as an adult. You are most welcome for the award 🙂 -It is a book I will read again. That I am sure. 🙂

    You’ve got beautiful names, Ms. Bodley. I am wearing a smile as I read this. It’s always good to get to know others a little better and that quote of yours is just so cool. We really should keep looking up as often as we can. Even when we have everything going and falling into place for us, sometimes dark emotions do swirl and the good thing is that you are taking charge. Awesome post, my dear Daisy.

      (blushing) Thank you Jaques – when I lived in Barcelona. I hung out with an Italian girl for a while and she studied architecture .She was the first person to tell me that I look upwards and not downwards and that it was a good thing. I think that is how the quote got it’s roots xxx
