Doing Good

” When we try all the time to be good, a spiritual beauty steals into our hearts, like the scent of wild flowers hidden among the grass” -UNKNOWN

WHY I HAVE CHOSEN THIS QUOTE?

I believe most people have good intentions, I include myself in this. Sometimes things don’t go according to plan and it may feel  like doing good is almost like being used or feeling like your worth is not appreciated. There are many reasons people stop doing good by themselves and by others.

I had a bit of a blip in my own life recently. Nothing major but it made me question what I was doing with my life. What I had taken on. My expectations about what I set out to achieve. The energy and effort I had put into goals.  I  got upset over things that I didn’t get 100% right. I jumped to the worst conclusion.

I am shit.

What good am I to others if I fuck up?

We can learn from our fuck ups . I’m a bit of a wild flower to begin with- 😀

I may even smell wild though I have tamed over the years. I think even when we are trying to be good and do good by ourselves and others,it is important to know it is okay to make mistakes.

It is brilliant if we can address these “errors” in a way that doesn’t stunt our growth or the path we are on..

Always stay true to your spirit but be open to reflecting on things that might not go so well. By being open we immediately    feed our soul and it becomes more beautiful and radiant.

A more radiant ,brighter spirit ,in my experience, usually attracts more good into my life. Things start to happen. New doors open. I don’t go back. I carry on moving forward.

I’m always looking for great quotes so if you have one that is unusual or unique -let me know in the most recent post comment sections.

I will make sure I post your quote/ folk tale/proverb/ in #FollowGreatFootsteps category and I will send a a direct link to your page:)

  1. I don’t know what you are doing. All I know is it feeds my soul. So what if one day you feel like a nasturtium instead of a daisy. This too will pass. If the focus is on doing good, the good will come out of it, even through the bad learning experiences. Such is life.

      • I should be back around mid month. I still take a peek at what’s going in in the meantime, but I won’t be writing again until then.

  2. I love quotes, too! Here are a couple of my favorites:

    When you finally figure out
that you’re never going to figure it all out,
    you’re finally beginning
    to figure it all out.

Regret for the things we did can be tempered by time; it is regret for the things we did not do that is inconsolable.

Society’s punishments are small compared to the wounds we inflict on our soul when we look the other way.

  3. Life’s journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well-preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out, shouting, “Holy shit…what a ride!”
